Birthday Blogs and Boozey Roses

It’s my birthday. I share a birthday with my teddy bear – Teddy was gifted to me the day I was born – a girl I don’t like anymore, the lovely Ms. Vine and, newly decreed*, Kimba. Happy birthday all – I am raising my glass filled with a Sunset Rose in your honor. Have lovely, lovely birthdays. Tomorrow, killer Miso Chicken. Enjoy!

* Kimba was found on the street, so she does not have a birthday per se. The vet estimates it was around July based on some vet-like test thing, so I have given her my birthday to keep it simple.

Sunset Rose Cocktail

Active time: 5 minutes; Serves 1. Adapted from Food & Wine Magazine, 2007.

Ice

3 ounces mango nectar

1 1/2 ounces silver tequila

1 tablespoon fresh lime juice

1/2 teaspoon rose water

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the mango nectar, tequila, lime juice and rose water and shake well. Strain into a glass and serve.
